Most registries make you pick a shop first.
The kettle you want is at Kmart. The bowl is from a ceramicist on Etsy. The bookshelf is IKEA and the good sheets are somewhere else entirely. A store registry can only offer you what that store sells, so you either compromise on what you actually want or you run three registries and hope your guests visit all of them.
Then there is the other half of the problem. When lists live in different places, nothing joins them up. Two people buy the same thing, both of them spending real money, and you end up quietly returning a gift someone chose for you.

Your guests don't need an account
They open your link, pick something, and buy it at the shop like they normally would. No sign-up, no password, no app. The people least comfortable online will manage this fine.
Nothing arrives twice
The moment someone claims a gift, it is marked as taken for everyone else looking. Even if two guests tap the last one at the same second, only one of them gets it.
Know a gift was really bought
Most registries take a guest's word for it. With Arigato, guests can forward their order confirmation email and we check it against the gift, then mark it verified. You can tell the difference between a gift that is on its way and one that is only promised.
Keep it a surprise
Turn on surprise mode and you will see that gifts are being claimed without seeing who gave what, or hide it all until after the day. Your registry keeps track so you don't have to peek.
Free, and we take no cut
Making a registry is free and giving through it is free. Arigato never handles the money. Guests buy at the shop, on the shop's own site, with the shop's returns policy behind them.
The questions everyone asks
Is it really free?
Yes. Making a registry is free and there is nothing to pay to use it, now or later. We do not process payments or take a percentage of anything. When a guest buys a gift through one of your links, some shops pay us a small commission for sending the customer. It never changes the price your guest pays, and it is the only way we make money.
Do my guests need an account?
No. They open your link, choose a gift, and go. Nothing to sign up for and no password to forget. If they want to change their mind later, we give them a private link to manage what they picked, and even that does not need an account.
Which shops can I add from?
Any online shop with a product page. Paste the link and Arigato reads the title, photo and price. It works best with the big Australian retailers, including Amazon, Target, Kmart, Big W, Etsy, eBay and IKEA. If a page will not read automatically, you can type the details in yourself, which takes a few seconds.
How do you know something was actually bought?
Guests can forward their order confirmation email to us and we match it against the gift on your registry. Gifts confirmed that way are marked as verified. Others show as reserved, which means a guest has said they are taking care of it. Most registries cannot tell those two things apart. You can.
Can I keep it a surprise?
Yes. Surprise mode lets you see that gifts are being claimed without seeing who chose what, or hide everything until after the event date. You will still know how much is left to go, so you can share your registry again if things are running slow.
Can people give money instead?
No. Arigato is for physical gifts from real shops. There is no cash gifting, no group gifting and no payments of any kind through us. If a wishing well is what you want, you will need something else.
